The prize money we are giving this year will exceed $2600.00

We will be giving $500.00 first place money to the top bands in the Old Time and Bluegrass categories.

The Cooleemee Civitan’s 4rd Annual Old-Time Fiddlers' and Bluegrass Convention has moved from the 3rd week in August to the 2nd week in May. This year as always, there will be great entertainment, strong competition and lots of jamming on the grounds. Along with good food and beverage provided by the Cooleemee Civitan Club, there will be arts and craft vendors on-site selling their wares.

The Cooleemee Civitan’s 4rd Annual Old-Time Fiddlers’ and Bluegrass Convention will be held on Saturday, May 13th, 2006 from 12:00pm - until. The event will be held at the "Clement Grove Arbor / Picnic Grounds" AKA "Masonic Picnic Grounds" which are located at 201 Poplar St. just off North Main St. in Mocksville, NC 27028. Band and Individual registration will start at 12 Noon. Registration for individuals will run until 2:30pm. Competition for the Individuals will begin at 2:30 PM and run until 5pm. Bands will continue register for competition until 6 PM with competition for bands beginning at 6 PM.

Admission for Adults will be $8.00, Children ages 6-12 $2.00 and Under 6 get in FREE.

Door prizes will be given away throughout the evening.

This event will be held "Rain or Shine" at the arbor in the picnic grounds. Seating is available; however, a lawn chair is suggested for more comfort!

This year's convention is going to have stiffer competition than ever. Last year, there were over 65 bands and individuals competing at the convention representing 5 states. This year's convention will be even bigger than last year. We are extending an invitation to all bands, individuals, buck dancers, etc. to compete.

There will be over $2,000 in Cash and Ribbons awarded to winners in the following categories:

Craft and Art Vendors are welcome at this event. In events past, there has been a very good turnout of vendors that have brought in a wide selection for items for sale. Vendor Information - Application Form

The Cooleemee Civitans (no coolers are allowed) will furnish food and beverages.
